Been too long...

In case you were worried - Maymont athletics hasn't strangely stopped.  Our teams have still been playing and athletes have still been competing.  Truth is, I had a baby.  Well, not me - my wife…but I helped.  Anyway, that should be explanation enough for not posting lately.

Much has happened since my last post.  The soccer team travelled to Rosthern - tied, then to Hepburn and won!  The played in regionals at North Battleford.  They needed to win their first game to move on but came up short against Se Se Wa Hum (actually, we lost 13-0, but Se Se went on to get second at provincials)

The Senior Girls volleyball team had an impressive finish at Mega Volley - 5th.  They have consistently placed second at every other tournament they have went to (Hafford, Medstead, Maymont, Neilburg).  Coach Kari Gray says they are looking strong and having fun.  They took the video camera to their last tournament so expect some video up shortly.

They Senior Boys volleyball team has been playing extremely well.  They finished second at Leoville's tournament (Glaslyn won it).  They then went on to win Hillmond's tournament after a hard fought final match against Goodsoil.  Our setter, Reegan Johnston, sprained his ankle in the 3rd set so we had to be creative and come up with a solution.  The team has really pulled together, and pending Reegan's return, should be firing on all cylinders for Conferences on Nov. 13th.  A reminder: it is the boys home tournament this Saturday, Nov. 6th, so we hope to see everyone there.
